Updated: Oct 18, 2018
Did you know that there are simple things at home that you can do to help your hair grow longer and thicker? #longerandthickerhair #improveyourhair #haircaretip

Hair is such a sensitive subject for a lot of people. From not knowing what to do when it is falling out, or how to make it healthier, I want to help you and educate you on hair health.
Our hair has 3 different growth cycles:
~Anagen (Growth Phase)
~Telogen (Dormant Phase)
~Catagen (End Phase)
The Anagen Phase:
During the growth phase, the longer a hair remains, the longer it will grow. A lot of this depends on genetics but this hair can last 2 - 6 years.
We want to keep our hair in the Anagen Phase the longest. But what so many people don't know is that it all starts with what is going on inside your own body. Your hair is the outside telling you what is going on within. If you are lacking nutrition OR your hormones are off, the health of your hair will be impacted.
Here are some basic things you can do now to improve your hair and keep it in the Anagen Phase longer.
1. Eat biotin-rich food to help hair growth
Biotin, also known as Vitamin H, forms a part of the B-complex group of vitamins that help turn food into fuel for energy. It also assists in the metabolism of fats, carbs, and amino acids which are the building blocks of protein.
Hair begins to grow from the root in the bottom of the follicle which is made up of cells of protein. So to make it simple - we need to eat a protein-rich diet, but for faster hair growth, you need need to be making sure you're eating biotin-rich foods too in order to facilitate the building blocks of protein.
Here are some biotin-rich food suggestions:

*Almonds, Peanuts, Pecans, and Walnuts
*Eggs (the yolk has one of the highest concentrations of biotin)
*Milk and Cheese
*Pork and Cooked Liver
*Salmon and Sardines
*Avocado
*Cauliflower
You can also take supplements that have biotin in them. Then you get a good balance of vitamins and biotin every single day. I love Monat S3 supplement pills. Usually when I take supplement pills I feel sick and nauseous. The S3 supplement pills have never made me feel sick. Win win!!!

OptiMSM, ActivAloe, EvnolMax, Vitamin A (as beta-carotene), Zinc, and Biotin
2. Stimulate blood flow on your scalp

Brush or massage your scalp more. Just think of this like working out. When you work out, your muscles grow and are healthier. This is the same idea. How do you do this exactly? Massage or brush your hair while bending over or having your head lower than your heart. This helps the blood go to your scalp and gets the blood pumping. Do this daily for about 5 minutes every day. If you get light-headed, stop. I promise taking the time to do this will help tremendously! It also doesn't feel too badly either. Think of it as pampering yourself on a daily basis.

Make sure you use an oil when you are massaging your scalp. This Monat Rejuveniqe Oil is an amazing blend of 11 different oils, that helps moisturize your scalp but also won't make it too oily. We don't need a big oily mess after you just pampered yourself!
One of the eleven different oils in this product is Abyssini oil containing smaller molecules that absorb into the skin like your natural oil. You can use this oil for your face, hands, and even your body.
3. Use cold water

Stop using such hot water on your hair. Heat opens the cuticle of the hair, which can cause damage over time. This doesn't mean you have to take a cold shower. But try to use lukewarm water when shampooing and then cold for rinsing out the conditioner. Your hair will be a lot shinier and much stronger throughout the day.
4. Less heat and let it go natural
Just like with the water temperature, your hair needs a break from the heat of the blow dryer and curling iron. The heat can weaken the hair causing breakage. Also, using good thermal protective products can help eliminate damage and protect the hair.
These 3 styling products will protect your hair from heat and strengthen your hair.
* Rejuvabeads split end mender
5. Make sure you moisturize and hydrate your hair

You can use a deep conditioning treatment about once a week to help add moisture, heal, and soften your hair from external damage.
Or, you can use a protein treatment 1-3 times a month. Protein strengthens the hair but too much of a good thing can dry the hair out, so don't use protein-rich treatments too frequently (depending on the brand).
6. Is your hair still falling out?
Everyone loses about 100-125 strands of hair every single day. It's natural to shed and regrow your hair. Also at times we go through more shedding than others. But, if you have been shedding way more hair than normal and it has been a few months, a few things could be happening.
*You may be stressed! Stress makes your hair fall out. So stop stressing out! LOL! Easier said than done. But we all could take a breather and try to take care of ourselves more.
*Your hormones are off. You need to go see a doctor. No product or hair dresser can help you. This is bigger than you and all of us. So the doctor will be your friend. Once you know that your hormones are balanced and that it could just be stress, then I can help you further. Contact me and I would love to help you get the correct products that would work best for YOU.
